Six years after the horrific terror attack against the Chabad House in Mumbai, which claimed six lives including the shaliach and his rebitzen, Rabbi Gavriel and Mrs. Holtzberg HY”D, a chanukas habayis was held to inaugurate the Beis Chabad. The event took place on Tuesday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Elul. Taking part in the event were the new shaliach and his rebitzen, Rabbi Yisrael and Mrs. Kozlovsky, who have been running the Beis Chabad during the past year.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were invested in the building with an emphasis placed on security for the complex which serves many travelers to India. The third floor will host a memorial room and the fourth floor will be a Jewish Museum as well as an exhibition explaining the Seven Mitzvos Bnei Noach.
The shluchim taking part in the event explained it was emotional amid a realization that the promise made to rebuild following the carnage has finally been realized.
