Thousands gathered at the tziyun of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L in the Sanhedria Beis Hachaim due to the difficult situation in southern Israel as we approach 11 months since the gadol’s petira.
Leading the slichos and tefilos was HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz and Mekubal Rabbi Yaakov Adas.
Rav Elbaz highlighted Rav Yosef’s concern for the Klall, calling on the tzibur to be mispallel in light of the difficult matzav facing Am Yisrael today.
Rav Adas spoke out harshly against the government, stating “Maran died Al Kiddush Hashem. We all saw his pain over the gezeira to draft bnei Torah and how it affected his heart, eventually leading to his death. This government will be held accountable. Nothing they can do in this world will be a tikun for this. They killed Maran”.
Special tefilos were recited for the talmid currently jailed in IDF Prison 6 for his refusal to report to an induction center.
