Officials are now reporting that three IDF soldiers were wounded in Tuesday night’s Gaza operation. Two are in moderate condition and one light. They were all transported to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva.
IDF officials’ stress the operation during the night was based on intelligence information, permitting the force to locate the home from which the 250 meter long tunnel emerged, intended for use in the immediate future to abduct soldiers into Gaza. Officials stress the operation prevented the terrorist abduction, thereby saving the ceasefire.
In the meantime, at least 21 rockets and mortar shells were fired into southern Israel during the night. There are reports to hothouses in Gaza periphery communities. No injuries are reported Baruch Hashem.
MDA Emergency Medical Service officials have announced they are on heightened alert status as a result of the renewed rocket fire in the region.
