Nachal Ohz Residents Have Had Enough

ywnisrael.israelResidents of Kibbutz Nachal Ohz have decided they are fed up being Hamas hostages as a result of the continuous mortar shell attacks against Gaza border communities. The residents of the kibbutz have been living out of suitcases for over a month, now announcing they have no plans to return home any time soon due to the deteriorating situation.

At present, there are about 50 residents of the 100 families that make up the kibbutz living there today as the rocket fire continues. Those who remained behind are compelled to remain due to the nature of their jobs. Tens of rockets and mortar shells were fired on Shabbos, with no end to the rocket fire in sight.

The residents have announced publicly they have lost faith in the IDF and the system and they are no returning home. The kibbutz leaders are calling on the government to do whatever is necessary to provide security for them and the area communities.

In nearby Kibbutz Ein HaShloshah, many of the families are not returning as well, as is the case in other border communities.

  1. They should be prepared for a long absence since there is no obvious or easy solution to stopping the inexpensive and plentiful supply of Hamas rockets fired from across the border. This is going to be a long-term fight given the political realities of hitting back without excessive civilian casualties.

  2. Why does it matter if they were planning to keep Shmiras it is just so sad pple who love Eretz yosroel are leaving their homes in fear think about simple ahavas yosroel that will bring moshiach not worrying about who is keeping shmitta

  3. “The residents have announced publicly they have lost faith in the IDF and the system”

Its a very unfortunate situation, but maybe this is a wake up call. Its never to late to turn to Hashem.

  4. Aryeh Zelasko ah yes blame the victim once again. Would you like your chesronos to be counted if something bad ever happens to you?

  5. The IDF can and will finish the job after the politicians gives 5he green light.

    Unfortunately, the current
leadership puts it trust in the nations of the world and not Hashem.
