Screaming “Kill the Jews” and “Heil Hitler” the louts jumped on the bus packed with about 30 students, from kindergarten to year 12, who were on their way home from school yesterday.

The children, from Mount Sinai College, Moriah College and Emanuel School, were hysterical after the attack by eight young men as the school bus travelled through the eastern suburbs towards Bondi Junction.

The attackers, described as Australian and smelling of ­alcohol, boarded on Alison Rd, Randwick at 4pm.

Mother Jacqui Blackburn said her three daughters on the bus, aged eight, 10 and 12, were traumatised. “The bus driver opened the doors for these strange men and allowed them on to torment the kids,” she said.

“They were screaming ‘Heil Hitler’, ‘Kill the Jews’, ‘Palestine must kill you Jews’, ‘We are going to cut your throats and slice your throats open’ — just all very bad, anti-Semitic stuff.

“Jewish schools need to be on high alert. I am shaking like a leaf. My kids were on a private school bus only for Jewish schoolchildren.”

The thugs got off at Bondi Junction after children phoned their parents in tears.

Mrs Blackburn said: “They phoned hysterically from Bondi saying, ‘Help us Mummy, strange bad drunk men are on the bus’.

“Then the phone cut off and another child rang saying, ‘They’re threatening to kill us, they are screaming ‘Heil Hitler’.”

Another mother, Isabelle Stanton, whose daughters Noa, 8, and Anais, 12, boarded at Mount Sinai College in Maroubra, said: “They were screaming racial stuff, ‘We are going to murder you’, ‘We are going to kill you’, and ‘Free Palestine’.

“When they got on the bus they wanted to sit next to the kids. When they got off they kicked the door and windows of the bus and yelled, ‘We are going to bash you guys, Free Palestine’.

“The kids are aware of what is going on in the Middle East but the conflict in the Middle East should not be ­imported here — we are now feeling very vulnerable.”

Noa was sitting at the back of the bus. “They got on and couldn’t walk properly and looked drunk and said they had just been pumping drugs in the city,” she said.

“They said ‘Come sit with us, we won’t do anything’. So we went to the bus driver and said, ‘Get them off the bus’ and he said ‘Don’t worry’ and told them to ‘Zip your lips’. We were panicking and crying.”

Mrs Stanton said parents could not understand why the thugs were allowed on the bus.

“I have no words, when children are involved it triggers some terrible emotions.”

Distraught parents said they wanted the Communal Security Group, run by the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, to be on the school bus for every stop from now on. Parents collected their frightened children from North Bondi, where they gave statements to police.

Board of Deputies chief executive Vic Alhadeff condemned the racist ambush.

“We are deeply disturbed by this incident and we are working with the police and the state government to ensure that proper and adequate security measures are put in place,” he said.

Police said they were hunting a gang of teenagers.
