President-elect Reuven Rivlin has decided to do away with much of the pomp and ceremony that is usually associated with the swearing in of a new president.
There will be no horses heading to Knesset and much of the majestic display that accompanies the event will not take place. Mr. Rivlin feels that while warfare is taking place in Gaza one should not have such a lavish event.
