Egypt Proposes Gaza Ceasefire Deal For 9:00AM On Tuesday Morning

bibyEgypt has raised a proposal for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel Monday night, while Arab media has claimed both Israel and Hamas have accepted the deal.

According to initial reports, the deal stipulates an end to all aggressions as of 9 am Tuesday morning.

Cairo proposed that cease-fire shortly before the opening of a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab League convened in Cairo to discuss the Israeli offensive that has killed more than 180 Palestinians – most of them terrorists – in the Gaza Strip in seven days.

  1. Yeah,Cairo, that should do it. How silly are they to believe that just like that both sides will cease fire.

  2. We are stuck with this world opinion silliness. It’s not like anyone will love us after this but there is great pressure. In reality, the Hamas should be viewed like any other group of organized crime. You don’t make peace deals with them because their very existence is only about crime. The idea is to eradicate them.

This used to new a simple, and universally understood idea. However, we lost the PR campaign.

  3. They should accept it with one stipulation!
It becomes null & void as soon as the first rocket is fired!
    It’s a win/win seal!
By 9:01 it would be violated and thus & void!
Hiw could a ceasefire be made with internally feuding factions?
It’s reeeeeeeediculous as Rebbie Hill would say!

  4. IMHO, from a military point-of-view, it does NOT make sense to accept a Cease-fire while it’s very likely there will be another WORSE flare up in the not-too-distant future.

But there is one other factor to consider:

I would be very worried about ongoing battle during the “Three weeks”, which begins tonight.
Traditionally, Jewish “Mazal” is at a low ebb during this period.

If at all possible, I would recommend Israel avoid conflict for the next 3 – 4 weeks.

(It’s not superstition. Not from a religious viewpoint. My concern is based on Scripture and Chazal.)
