The NYPD is investigating after skeletal human remains were found inside a refuse-filled apartment in Brooklyn.
Police say they responded at 5 p.m. Monday after getting a 911 call of a foul odor coming out of an apartment at 4702 15 Avenue.
They say they found a 28-year-old woman who told officers she wanted to harm herself.
Police say the apartment was in disarray and filled with garbage and refuse.
After EMS transported the woman to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation, police say they discovered the skeletal remains.
The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.

The million dollar question is “was misaskim services required”
Not yet, unless they work inside the medical examiner’s office.
The story is not the way the NYPD reported it. People in the building have been complaining about bad odor for months. The building owners contacted family of tennant many times to come check whats going on but she always claimed that everything is good, she just spoke to them… Finally, yesterday landlord called police to come check things out. They arrived and said they saw nothing and called the FDNY and EMS who claimed the same thing. After they left the landlord call Shomrim and Hatzolah. They arrived and made the gruesome discovery of a girl sitting at the table totally unresponsive and the remains of her mother next to her. Big mystery how the NYPD and others claimed to find nothing in the apartment…
