Shas leader Minister Eli Yishai has issued a call for the immediate establishment of an emergency economic cabinet, calling on all involved to place partisan differences aside for the good of the country.

Yishai stated that by now, it must be obvious to all that the global economic crisis is hitting Israel and steps must be taken before the damage to the local economy is too great. Towards that end, Yishai is calling for the establishment of the emergency forum to include the prime minister, the governor of the Bank of Israel, the finance minister and the head of the opposition.

Yishai states this forum must address the issues at hand and deal with them towards stabilizing the economy and avoiding a major financial disaster in Israel.
