Bayit Yehudi leader Minister Naftali Bennett is opposed to the Security Cabinet decision to exercise restraint as rockets continue to fall in areas of southern Israel. Leading the cabinet voice for continued restraint is Justice Minister Tzipi Livni.
On Thursday 5 Tammuz the Security Cabinet announced a 48-hour ultimatum to Hamas, but that deadline has passed and the rocket attacks continue. At least 60 rockets were fired on erev Shabbos and Shabbos towards the Ashkelon Coast and Negev communities. For the first time since Operation Pillar of Defense, a rocket was also directed at Beersheva. B’chasdei Hashem the latter was intercepted by the Iron Dome.
Bennett stated angrily “From Syria to Wadi Ara they see the footage of Beersheva residents running for shelter. They are expecting a fierce response and they interpret our lack of response as weakness. Self restraint in response to the attacks against women and children does not exhibit strength. Restraint in response to the murders of three youths is not strength. Southern Israeli residents are not second class citizens. There must be response to rockets fired at Beersheva the very same as if they were fired at Tel Aviv, not to wait until they fire against Tel Aviv. I do not accept the statements by those who say there is no way to stop the rocket fire. We must be clear and succinct. Zero rocket fire into Israel. Zero tolerance to terrorism. Zero tolerance to PA (Palestinian Authority) incitement that is costly to us in blood.”
Joining Bennett is Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who is demanding an immediate response.

. We should perhaps make another deadline I’m sure that’ll frighten the enemy. Who are we kidding
yes it is insane to do nothing while the arabs continue to shoot rockets and riot.
We wouldn’t want anyone to think that our reaction was in any way an act of retaliation would we?
I guess the govt is getting its cues from Do-nothing-Barak Obama who threatened Syria with a red line and then did nothing about it when the line was crossed.
Hey Bennett, you made a pact with Livni, now live with it! You thru the Chareidim under the bus, to join up with that mitunefes so now you’re suffering the consequences. You never represented the Frum DL community! You don’t care about the future of Torah! YOU are a disgrace!
Who are the morons in Israel that keep on voting for Livni and her left-wing buddies? Sick people!
Rabotai, you can be sure Obama and baal Kerry are using the chain of bad news in Eretz Israel to advance their pro-Arab policies. He must be rubbing his hands that Israel is fretting about who killed the pal teenager, and the video of the American Arab being beaten up by the cops. He uses them as leverage to squeeze concessions from the Israeli government.
