According to Israel Fire Service and JNF officials, in the Aminadav and Ora areas, 550 dunam of forestry was destroyed in the Wednesday 4 Tammuz blaze. Another 60 dunam was destroyed in other areas.

Three fires broke out in Yerushalayim on Wednesday; one in Moshav Even Sapir, in Tzur Hadassah and Lifta. The Lifta fire which is the entrance to the capital was put out without incident. However in Even Sapir and Tzur Hadassah, firefighters battled the blaze during the night. In Even Sapir the blaze spread to the adjacent forest rather quickly, as well as to a number of homes and a plastic factory. It continued in the direction of Aminadav and Ora. Some residents were evacuated and some homes were damaged. Fire fighting efforts were on the ground as well as from the air with both fire planes and helicopters assisting in bringing the fire under control.

Jerusalem fire department spokesman Kobi Erez explained that one of the concerns was the
