Filings Show Big Jump In Shelly Silver’s Legal Income

silvernNewly filed financial disclosures show 2013 was a good year for New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s private law practice.

The filings show the Manhattan Democrat was paid between $650,000 and $750,000 last year. That’s up from the $350,000 to $450,000 in income Silver reported on last year’s filings.

Silver is listed as “of counsel” to the Manhattan law firm of Weitz & Luxenberg.

The financial disclosures are required for all state lawmakers and statewide officials.

A filing for Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos indicates he made between $150,000 and $250,000 in 2013 for his legal work for a Long Island law firm. That was the same amount listed in last year’s filing.

The filings were posted online Wednesday.
