The Supreme Court on Tuesday, 3 Tammuz 5774 rejected a petition filed on behalf of the terrorist who murdered Israel Police Chief Superintendent Baruch Mizrachi HY”D, Ziad Awad.
Mizrachi was driving with his wife and family towards the Hebron area on erev Pesach 5774 when the lone terrorists opened fire at the vehicle with an AK-47 assault rifle. Dozens of bullets hit the car, killing Baruch immediately, leaving his wife injured.
After Ziad was identified, one of the over 1,000 terrorists released in the Shalit deal, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called to demolish his home. As is the norm in Israel, the leftists were quick to come to the defense of the family, seeking to block the IDF from razing the family home.
Acting out of character, as the nation buries the murdered bnei yeshiva HY”D, the nation’s highest court rejected the petition, citing the decision to raze the home “complies with the principle of proportionality”.
