A Parksville man was arrested early Thursday morning after he drove the wrong way on Route 17.

Just after midnight, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call of a pickup truck traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of State Route 17 between Livingston Manor and Parksville.

The vehicle was located and found to have run off the road near the Morsston exit. James Black, 39, of Parksville was uninjured in the accident. He was charged with aggravated DWI (having a B.A.C. greater than .18), reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a controlled access highway and several other violations. Black was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance in the Town of Rockland.
