On June 22, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a residence in Grahamsville, NY for a report of a man with a gun. An investigation determined that Scott Hynson, age 40 of Grahmsville had pointed a loaded Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun at others during a dispute at the location. Hynson was arrested without incident and the weapon was recovered.

Hynson was charged with Menacing in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned in the Town of Neversink Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
