Senior Gazan based Hamas commander Muhmad a-Zahir released a statement to the media on Tuesday night, the eve of 27 Sivan 5774. He said that in the next military conflict with Israel, Hamas’ rockets can bomb any city in Israel because their weapons have been advanced considerably since the last military confrontation with IDF forces. He added that Hamas forces in Gaza are working day and night to dig tunnels and other activities to improve Hamas infrastructure.
The same threats were made earlier in the week by former Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who added “The intifada in the West Bank is already underway”.
Speaking to Givati troops involved in Operation Brothers Return in the Hebron region, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz told soldiers “The IDF stands prepared for any and every eventuality”.
