A man has been stabbed in an alleged Neo-Nazi attack.
A music event in Markfield Park, South Tottenham, erupted into violence when a group of men began attacking bystanders with rocks and flares.
The group are thought to be members of an extreme Polish nationalist group, Zjednoczeni Emigranci.
A police spokesman said that they were called to the park at approximately 9:10pm on Saturday evening following reports of a disturbance.
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound, but was later released following treatment for superficial wounds.
Although nobody has been arrested in connection with the stabbing, police arrested and charged a man with religiously and racially aggravated common assault for pushing a Jewish man’s kippah from his head.
He has been bailed to appear in court.
Sgt Paul Kane, head of Tottenham Hale Safer Neighbourhoods police team, said that the swift action was a result of a “team effort”, adding: “We will not tolerate behavior like this in Haringey”.
An anti-fascist vigil has been called in response to the incident, and will be held at 6pm tonight outside Tottenham Town Hall, Town Hall Approach Road.

I recall a story my Tate told me of having his Kippah smacked off his head and that was in Ost Preussen in the early part of 1939 when he was nearly 5 years old and on his way to the Synagogue in the city of Konigsberg! Synagogue was burnt to the ground rest is history!!! Chabad PG has rebuilt a Synagogue on the same site, may it long continue to serve the community!
