Final preparations are underway in Amuka where thousands of mispallalim will begin arriving this evening, Monday, 25 Sivan for the yahrzeit of the Tanna, Rabi Yonasan ben Uziel. The National Committee for Holy Sites has been working to assist in preparations for the yahrzeit.
Yeshuos Amuka and its kollel of 100 avreichim operates at the tziyun all year. On Tuesday afternoon the special tikun of 1,000 shofaros is planned. It will be led by Admor Rav Yechiel Abuchatzera, who will also be reciting tefilos for the three yeshiva students being held captive by Hamas as well as for the success of security forces taking part in Operation Brothers Return. Last year, 7,000 mispallalim took part in the yahrzeit and this year organizers expect at least 10,000.
Yeshuos Amuka is prepared for the event and will be offering people light refreshments. Officials strongly recommend that persons planning to take part prepare for the sharav weather conditions expected, especially ample drinking water. One wishing to connect to the 1,000 shofaros tikun may call 052-764-0001.
The photos show the final preparations taking place during the night and on Monday morning.

Shofars should not be blown at a gravesite. This might result in the dead coming to life prematurely, wondering whether Tchiyas HaMeisim has arrived. See:
