A vehicle speeding down 13th Avenue collided with a Hatzolah ambulance and then slammed into a bank, early Friday morning (Thursday night). Sources tell YWN that the Boro Park Hatzolah ambulance was returning from a call and was crossing 13th Avenue and 50th Street, when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed clipped the front corner of the ambulance. The vehicle spun out of control, jumped the curb, and slammed into the Berkshire Bank, located on 13th Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.
The crash happened around 2:20AM.
Local residents heard the crash and quickly gathered on the street.
Additional Hatzolah members along with the FDNY, EMS, and the NYPD were on the scene as well.
Thankfully, the occupant of the vehicle was not seriously injured, and was able to extricate himself from the vehicle.
The Hatzolah members inside the ambulance did not suffer any injuries, Boruch Hashem, and the damage to the ambulance was minimal.

The Accord has a light bar on the roof. Was the driver speeding to an emergency?
Also, I don’t think it’s right to post pictures of the car’s license number. What if someone recognizes it? (What if it was yours?) Besides, with technology the way it is today and a little know how the driver’s identity can be easily uncovered.
It seems like everyone was having a jolly time rubbernecking.
It is nice to know that now days you can drive into a bank to make a deposit!
Thank Gd this happened in the middle of the night and not during the day, when there are dozens of pedestrians on that spot. There’s a bus stop right there, and a lot of passing pedestrian traffic.
..not to mention customers in the bank…BH…
