Mr. & Mrs. Noam and Aviva Shalit took part in a Yomtov meal outside the Prime Minister’s Jerusalem Residence to make a point, that for their son Gilad, it represents his third Rosh Hashanah in Hamas captivity. The meal consisted of bread, water and some basic dry foods, as they presume this is what is being given to Gilad.
 
Several dozen family members, friends and supporters took part in the Rosh Hashanah event. The Shalits were angered by the fact Prime Minister Ehud Olmert refused to step outside to meet them.
 
Noam asked Gilad for ‘mechila’ on behalf of the entire family for not succeeding in pushing the decision-makers enough to obtain his release.
