Before Shabbos two weeks ago, a choshuvah member of the community walked into the Yeshiva office. “How much does the Yeshiva owe Rebbeim for last year’s salaries?” he asked. The Hanhala shared with him the not-so-small number – into the hundreds of thousands.
“I’ll tell you what”, he responded. “We cannot allow the Rabbeim in our community who are moser nefesh for our children’s chinuch to go into yom tov being owed monies from last year. If the Yeshiva raises 50% of the monies owed to them before Rosh Hashanah (September 30), I will match it!”
Miraculously, just like that, half the remaining deficit would be covered, on condition it gets matched before Rosh Hashonah – all or nothing!
Roshei Yeshiva Rabbi Yisroel Niman and Rabbi Mordechai Palgon, said, “We are confident that the tzibur will come thru in matching the other half. After all, people are getting a double bang for their buck!”
Since that time the Yeshiva has been working vigorously to meet that goal. As of last night, Motzei Shabbos, they were still 55K short with less then 48 hours left. If you would like to participate, you can email the Yeshiva at [email protected]
In the z’chus of our efforts, may we all be blessed with abundant bracha, hatzlacha and good health in the coming year.

As a yungerman who once learned, in the yeshiva, I can tell you that it is a truly special place. The rebbeim seem to know when to push the boys and when to leave them alone. I have seen many bochurim enter the yeshiva not into learning, and leaving the yeshiva with a tchukah for torah and emes. Thwy also become tremendous baalei midos.
wow what an unbeleivable thing i wish i had such freinds
im going to email the yeshiva right now
55k? wow, thats alot of dough 2 come up with in 48hrs. but i hope they are matzliach doing it!
Perhaps I am wrong, but this “ALL OR NOTHING” deal disturbs me and I question the seriousness of the donor, especially when he gave them an unrealistic time frame to come up with the other half. Even if they are matzliach and he actually keeps his end of the bargain, it would seem to me that his שכר in Olam Habah will surely be diminish from what it could have been, being that it is not being given out forthright.
Perhaps he’ll only get half. 😉
As a former resident of Miami, and a beneficiery of this wonderful mosad, I hope thye recieve this donation. The Yeshiva has accomplished so much in the Miami Community, and its wonderful alumni are a testament to its hufe success! To all those doubters, remember -yeshuas H-shem keheref ayin, it won’t be the first time this yeshiva will have seen a nes!
Gut Yar!
I often wonder, upon hearing stories like these, if I were in the position to offer $500,000, if I would feel it appropriate to attach a condition like that. Since I have not been in such a position, I did not have the occasion to ask a Rav how appropriate it would be.
Rest assured, though, that Hashem does not hold back schar from any briyah, much less from a human being, a Jew who supports tzedaka and Torah, so I would not harp on the “strings-attached” (no pun intended).
May we all be zoche to a kisiva vachasima tova with parnassa tova and shefa biracha vihatzlacha.
