Jews in the Ma’aras HaMachpelah area of Chevron on motzei Shabbos decided not to duck, but to return fire, throwing rocks at Arabs in the area who were attacked Jews on Shabbos. The Arabs also directed their rocks at IDF soldiers who responded to the scene.

The exchanges of rock fire last for quite some time with on Jew reportedly sustaining a fractured nose a result.

The IDF is concerned over the recent increase in violence and attacks on the Erez Alley path which connects Kiryat Arba to the Machpelah.
