IAF Pilot Escapes Injuries in Attempted Assault

An air force combat pilot on the way to the Nevatim base in the south on Thursday morning was targeted by two Bedouins who planned to attack him with bats.

At the pilot was traveling on the road they attempted to compel him to stop, trying to force his vehicle to the side. At one point, he did indeed stop and they came out of their vehicles, heading towards him with bats. The pilots used his military hand-to-hand combat training and left the two in pain, on the side of the road. He then traveled to his base and filed a report with his commanding officer who alerted police.

When police arrived on the scene they were informed that the ‘victims’ who were “badly beaten up” according to the people who spoke with police, were carried away by their friends.

Interestingly, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi recently (reported HERE on YWN) warned that the “next Intifada” may come from the Bedouin community, where religious leaders have stepped-up their incitement against the state and IDF service.
