In an effort to bring more business and jobs to the district, Community Board 12 announced that at their last meeting before the summer, Dominick Stanzione, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Maimonides Medical Center, will be giving a special presentation to the Board and the community at large.
Maimonides Medical Center is planning to build a new seven story medical center on 9th Avenue between 48th and 49th Streets. This new Medical Center will bring services to this community that will be one of the most advanced in the country. A project like this involves a lot of opportunities for individuals, companies and suppliers who have skills, services, goods and expertise to offer. To that end, Community Board 12 reached out to Maimonides Medical Center and requested that they educate the community on the process of becoming involved in the project for those that might be interested. Maimonides agreed and Mr. Stanzione will make the presentation at the June 24 meeting on how to apply for those job contracts.
“Maimonides Medical Center has long been a strong partner with our community and I am excited that they are willing to keep business and jobs local. We have the best contractors, electricians and all different types of professionals right here in our community and I’m glad that Maimonides is willing to utilize them,” said District Manager Barry Spitzer. “We encourage everyone that has an interest in doing business with Maimonides, either in the fields of construction and contracting or supplying, to attend this meeting,” added Spitzer.
“Keeping jobs local is not only good for the Hospital but it also helps boost the economy of the community, which makes this a win win situation. I congratulate Maimonides on their willingness to offer local businesses and residents an opportunity to thrive, right here in the district. I look forward to working with them on this new project and on future projects,” said Chairman Yidel Perlstein.
“We value our relationship with the Board in particular and the entire community in general. I look forward to meeting the community next week and interacting with local businesses for our mutual benefit,” said Dominick Stanzione, COO of Maimonides Medical Center.
Community Board 12 will be holding their meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Amico Senior Center, 5901 13th Avenue, 3rd Floor (entrance on 59th Street). For any additional information please feel free to contact Community Board 12 at 718-851-0800.

Finally the business/political world is learning to accept that networking in this crazy world of chaos is one of the best things to do in order to foster job placement and the monetizing of the individuals involved in the process.
Best of luck to all.
