Meeting with supporters in his Kochav Yair home on Thursday, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz announced he will be back to active duty after Rosh Hashanah. Mofaz announced he would be taking a break after losing the party leadership race to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. It was first interpreted that he was taking a break from public life, but the minister stated this is not so and he is remaining active after Yomtov and the short recess.

Regarding his future in the Kadima party, he indicated he plans to continue contributing in the future. The former IDF chief of staff and defense minister stated that following some 30 years of service to public, he is at crossroads and needs to make serious decisions.
