Noam and Aviva Shalit, the parents of captive IDF soldier Gilad, are expected to petition the High Court of Justice. They reject the response to their letter received from Defense Ministry official Amos Gilad, who heads the Political-Security branch of the ministry.
Shalits recently sent a letter to a number of senior government officials questioning the continued channeling of tax revenue funds to the PA (Palestinian Authority), explaining we do not know for certain that some of these funds are not being used against Israel by Gaza-based terrorists. In addition, the Shalits stated the government is not using the tax revenue to bargain for their son’s release, stating the cabinet has failed to grasp the situation and pressure Hamas to release Gilad using any means at its disposal, including the tax funds.
In his response to their letter, Amos Gilad wrote that following a detailed probe Israel is confident the tax revenue funds will not be used for terrorism.
