Earlier on Monday 18 Sivan a bogus WhatsApp message went viral, once again pertaining to the terrorist kidnapping of the three Jewish teens. The latest message stated the boys were no longer alive, murdered by two terrorists, adding a partial gag order on the case prohibited sharing additional information.
The message stated the three were killed struggling with their captors and that Rabbi Chananya Tzulek arrived to at the Elad home of the Yifrach family accompanied by other officials to give the tragic news to the family. The false message apparently went viral, compelling a response from the IDF Spokesman, which released a message that “rumors circulating about the captives are untrue”.
Police are becoming involved in the hope of tracking down the source of the despicable message.
Haaretz Yesha correspondent Chaim Levinson, who also covers chareidi affairs seems to believe chareidim are behind the false WhatsApp message. He wrote on his Facebook page “Shalom to the chareidim that spread the false announcement on the death of the captives via WhatsApp. At least try to write with fewer typos and use proper grammar, male female conjugation, which adds reliability to your message. P.S. Go choke”.
A colleague, Akiva Novik of Yediot Achronot said in his typical sarcasm “Friends, even during these most difficult hours we mustn’t lose hope. We are all relying on the IDF to quickly locate them for we do not know their location at present, the youths spreading the false WhatsApp message and break their bones”.
Spokesman for Yishuv Talmon Ravid Sharon told Ynet “Once again there are horrible rumors which intend to cause more heartache. The rumors arrived here too, the home of the Shaar family, but we have already known the value of rumors on the networks. We checked and have learned these notices are not based in fact…”
Police have indicated a criminal investigation is likely to be launched in light of the ugly disinformation being spread.

some people are sick
They should rather investigate the racist antisemitic incitement perpetrated by the reporter, for trying to besmirch chareidim.
If they were so called true charaidim…. Why would they have what’s app??? Non of my “charaidi” friends and fam have that app!!
I think this is a time when all of our tremendously divided nation should try to come together and maybe just maybe once we have all let go of our title and “type” of Jewishness HaShem will #bringMYbrothershome! Seriously this hate is ripping apart our nation!! It’s heartbreaking!
We should ask the police to investigate the reporter from haaretz for causing incitement. The guessing of this reporter does not make any sense at all. The Chareidim are learning and praying for these 3 students.
Always bashing Charedim! Thanks alot lapid and lippman. Seems like the nation is suffering now so you can’t do your only purpose in the world and incite against the Charedim. SICK!!
We need a system like the I. A. in America to probe this corrupt and incompetent police department
