Attorney Ben-Givir: What About a Bill ‘Death Penalty to Terrorists’?

bgvSpeaking to Kol Berama Radio on Monday morning 18 Sivan, Honenu attorney and veteran Hebron resident and right-wing activist Itamar Ben-Givir commented on the current situation. Ben-Givir expressed anger over any and all attempts to cast any measure of blame no matter how slight on the boys because they hitchhike. Ben-Givir explained the responsible party is the terrorists and the government is responsible to provide security for its citizens.

Ben-Givir suggested that “if there was a prime minister with the guts, which Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu does not have, they would not be entertaining a no parole law for terrorists but a death sentence law for them”. He added that if terrorists realized they would be executed the situation would change dramatically for there would no longer be any option of a prisoner exchange down the line.

Opponents to the death penalty have always maintained that this would result in the immediate execution of IDF personnel taken captive as well as hostages such as in a situation such as the current one. This is the reason Israel has not had capital punishment in place for terrorists over the years.
