IDF officials believe that an attempted abduction of four female soldiers was thwarted on Shabbos after a terror squad emerged from a tunnel shaft and fired an RPG missile at the vehicle they were traveling in, Channel 14 News reported on Sunday evening.
According to the report, soldiers in a nearby tank opened fire within 40 seconds, thwarting the plan. The terrorists fled the scene and re-entered the tunnel.
There have been disturbing reports in recent days about similar ambushes by terrorists that have led to casualties, including an IDF officer and a Border Police officer who were killed in an ambush in Gaza on Friday.
On Sunday, a terrorist emerged from a tunnel shaft in the Daraj Tuffah area of the Strip and fired an RPG missile at IDF forces. B’Chasdei Hashem, there were no casualties and the terrorist fled the scene.

What are the ICC & UN & the late pope waiting for, to weigh in on this horrifying atrocity & absolute 💯 violation of all international law?
How are these guys still building tunnels? What was the point of this whole war? To destroy Hamas’ ability to attack Israel. But they still have troops and they still have tunnels. This is more and more beginning to resemble the quagmire of Vietnam.
What country in the world has women fighting the front lines when danger of life, does russia, pakistan, china, north korea, etc comes to show some loss sanity, when young girls are fighting here, and they are in great danger, it means animalism of a nation etc
@Resident: I agree, if after 18 months in that little enclave the IDF could not destroy the tunnels and defeat Hamas, it proves ה’ איש מלחמה and NOT the IDF!
If they want to succeed against their enemies, they need to SUPPORT Torah, not destroy it; strengthen Shabbos and Kashrus instead of destroying it.
5TResident:
The gedolim warned Klal Yisrael over a century ago that the Zionist disaster would mean wars there forever. The Zionists knew this, too, but didn’t care.

Obviously, Hamas is a terror group that also has zero right to (exist and) take Israelis hostage. But your using the term “horrifying atrocity” on their attempt to take hostage a soldier – not civilian but active duty soldier – is stretching the term to result in it becoming almost meaningless. Zionists typically do this.
