IDI continues to increase the role of pharmacists in public health services. Pharmacists will continue to increase community awareness through the “Blood Donation” program on World Blood Donation Day, as well as free consultation and treatment for the community.
IDI provides free health services through social and charitable activities, namely helping others on “World Blood Donor Day”. Blood donation is a social activity that involves the voluntary donation of blood to help save the lives of others who need blood transfusions. Blood donations can be whole blood or blood components such as plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and blood chips. World blood donor day is celebrated every June 14. It aims to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation and thank voluntary blood donors around the world. With blood donation activities, pharmacists will try to help the community so that they can experience various benefits, both for themselves and for others who need blood as well as free counseling and treatment.
Pharmacy Services Contribution to Public Health Awareness through Blood Donation
As the role of pharmacists in the community evolves, ongoing education and skills development is crucial. IDI has designed a program of charitable and social activities, blood donation activities that can more effectively help the wider community. These blood donation programs and activities focuses on three key areas:
1. Collaboration of Blood Donation Activities with the Government
IDI works with the government to implement blood donation programs and activities. Pharmacists often cooperate with the government to increase public awareness and participation in blood donation. This collaboration also helps to increase the blood supply in blood banks to meet blood transfusion needs in hospitals, and to increase public awareness and participation in blood donation activities, which ultimately has a positive impact on public health.
2. Improve Health Education to the Community for Free
IDI with professional pharmacists will always help the community, especially in drug distribution and health services. Through blood donation activities on world blood donor day, pharmacists will conduct health checks, so as to detect serious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, and malaria.
3. Entertainment and Health Exhibition
Pharmacists will always help the community. In commemoration of world blood donor day, various exhibitions and creative events are organized to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation. Various music and art events are often held to honor blood donors, such as live music.
Supporting and Lowering the Risk of Heart Attack Through Blood Donation Activities
IDI will continue to be committed to helping public health through professional pharmacists. Through blood donation activities on world blood donor day, the community is expected to reduce iron levels in the body. Iron buildup can increase free radicals, which have the potential to damage blood vessel walls and accelerate atherosclerosis, which is the buildup of plaque in blood vessels, a risk factor for heart disease.
Continued Commitment to Excellence in Pharmacy Services
Pharmacists are responsible for the procurement, storage, distribution, administration, availability and safety of medicines. With the blood donation activities on world blood donor day, it is hoped that more people will be inspired to become new blood donors and regularly donate blood.
