MK (Likud) Moshe Feiglin announced he will vote for Reuven Rivlin in the upcoming presidential race. He feels Rivlin is the right man for the job, citing his modest lifestyle and nationalist hashkafa. In his Facebook post he writes that after studying the candidates he decided Rivlin is the man who should serve as Israel’s next president, admitting for a period of time he had fears that a Likud candidate would be “like the Likud” but he now feels it will not be so.
Feiglin adds “I tried to advance the candidacy of the man who has sacrificed more than any other on our behalf, a modest man, one who would bring honor to the Office of Presidency, Jonathan Pollard”.

Jonathan is in an American prison. How in the world can he serve as Israel’s President? I think Feiglin is starting to lose it.
I normally like Feiglin, but if anyone was to investigate Pollard, they would find an unstable individual.
The fact that he is a celebrity cause aside, he is a highly neurotic individual and would not be a credit to either the Jews or Israel.
One can debate whether or not Pollard was given an excessive sentence and should be granted clemency and released from prison. However, to suggest he is a hero who would bring “honor” to the presidency of EY is sick joke to many American Jews. Many recall that he violated his oath to the United States and accepted money to divulge some of this nation’s greatest secrets. Yes, he should probably be released from prison as many former AGs and leaders have suggested but don’t devalue the office of the Presidency EY.
Now you know why most Israeli politicians aren’t breaking their backs to get Pollard released.
