Montreal: Mother of Terrorist in Jewish School Firebombing Found Guilty as Accomplice

bomb.jpgMontreal, Canada – The mother of a man involved in the 2004 firebombing of a Jewish elementary school in Montreal has been found guilty of being an accessory after the fact.

But Rouba Elmerhebi Fahd, who has been free on $10,000 bail, might not spend any time behind bars.

Her son, Sleiman Elmerhebi, was convicted of torching the United Talmud Torah elementary school library four years ago.

After Quebec court Judge Robert Marchi found her guilty, the Crown asked for a sentence of community service, even though the woman could face up to seven years in prison. Elmerhebi Fahd’s lawyer is seeking an unconditional discharge, noting his client has been in and out of court for more than four years.

The sentencing will take place on Nov. 25.

  1. It is mind-boggling that the Crown asks for NO prison time when Canadian criminal law allows them to ask for seven years behind bars. She should have the book thrown at her. A responsible mother would not have tried to whisk him away outside Canada.
