During the course of the war, more than 4,000 Jews from around the world immigrated to Israel, the Jewish Agency announced Monday. 550 new immigrants are set to arrive Wednesday morning, on three chartered El-Al Flights from New York, Toronto and London. According to Jewish Agency estimates, 24,000 people from countries around the world will immigrate to Israel in the course of 2006, up from the 22,657 people who made aliyah in 2005.
