FLATBUSH: Interfaith Event Commemorates 80 Years Since the Holocaust {VIDEOS & PHOTOS}


A unique interfaith event was held on Tuesday at a Muslim center on Coney Island Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn, marking 80 years since the Holocaust. The gathering brought together Holocaust survivors, community leaders, and interfaith representatives to reflect on the lessons of history and reinforce a shared commitment to combating hatred and intolerance.

The event featured discussions on the impact of the Holocaust, the dangers of rising antisemitism, and the importance of fostering unity among diverse communities. Attendees emphasized the need for continued education and awareness to prevent history from repeating itself.

Among the distinguished guests were Former Advisor to NYC Mayor Joel Eisdorfer, NYPD Brooklyn South Chief Charles McEvoy, NYPD Chief Richie Taylor, community activist Dovi Zetilin, NYPD Honorary Commissioner of Public Safety Devorah Halberstam, Avi Greenstein of the BPJCC, Jacob Eisdorfer, special advisor to Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, and NYPD 66th Precinct Clergy Liaison Shlomie Levy. Holocaust survivors also attended, sharing their personal stories and reinforcing the event’s message of resilience and unity.
