Warning: Stay Away from Sinai

Despite repeated and increasingly ominous warnings, urging and instructing Israelis to leave Sinai, hundreds of Israelis, an estimated 300, remain in Sinai. Some explain they are not afraid, while others acknowledge the anxiety, but appear unwilling to permit terrorists to curtail their vacation.

The national government’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau has called on Israelis to leave Sinai immediately, but according to officials at the Taba Crossing; the warning did little to prompt Israelis to return home.

The terror alert is especially potent regarding travel Muslim countries, stressing the specific credible warnings regarding a planned attack in Sinai, stating terrorists plan to abduct Israelis from that area.

As has been reported by YWN on numerous occasions during recent days, there is a general warning to the global Jewish/Israeli community to exercise vigilance during the upcoming holiday season. In many cities around the world, security is being increased for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and other precautions are being taken to avoid an incident chas v’sholom.
