An elderly woman, 83, was fatally stabbed in Herzliya on Friday in a terror attack. The assailant, a 28-year-old Palestinian man from the West Bank, had previously worked as an informant for Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, which later relocated him to Israel after his identity was compromised.

The victim, Ludmila Lipovsky HY’D, had just exited her assisted living facility and was waiting for transportation to a medical appointment when she was attacked, according to Hebrew media.

The attacker, identified as Ibrahim Shalhoub from Tulkarem, reportedly approached Lipovsky and began stabbing her. Local security guards intervened, shooting and critically injuring Shalhoub. Police later arrested him, though no update on his medical condition was provided.

Lipovsky was transported by Magen David Adom paramedics to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Shin Bet later confirmed the assailant’s background, noting that he had previously assisted in uncovering terror plots in the West Bank before being relocated for his safety.
