El Al Ranked 5th-Worst Airline In The World In 2024

El Al has been named the fifth-worst airline in the world, according to the 2024 AirHelp ranking of global airlines. The rankings, released in December, placed El Al 105th out of 109 airlines evaluated.

AirHelp, a global database for flight performance and passenger experience, assessed airlines on criteria including claims processing, punctuality, and customer reviews. El Al scored 0.1 in claims handling, 5.7 in punctuality, and 8 in customer satisfaction, reflecting significant gaps in performance, particularly in claims processing.

While Brussels Airlines topped the list with high scores across all categories, El Al ranked just above Bulgaria Air, with Tunisair finishing in last place.

El Al’s struggles have been exacerbated by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which has increased demand for flights to and from Israel. Critics have accused the airline of price gouging, with some passengers reporting exorbitant ticket prices and difficulty finding availability. The airline has defended its efforts to manage the surge in demand, describing the situation as an “unusual load” on its service network.

  1. Pure loshon hora and more precisely motzei Shem ra on yidden. Sounds like something straight off cnn or nbc. They are far from the worst airline and frankly the only one that hasn’t abandoned all their customers and fooled with them for months now.

  2. Did the owner of YMN once have a run-in with an El Al flight attendant or something? Did the check-in lady refuse to let you take your overweight suitcase on for free?

  3. Despite the war and being the only airline, etc etc how does that explain the very poor movie selection for an 11 hour flight. And none of the Israeli shows have English subtitles.

  4. “AirHelp, a global database for flight performance and passenger experience, assessed airlines on criteria including claims processing, punctuality, and customer reviews“

And the only way they know the “passenger experience” is if they leave a review, right?

Tell me which chassid or Chareidi Israeli has internet to leave a review?

  5. I just flew El Al between TLV and JFK, and I am very happy that they are still flying. The economy seat was fine. I didn’t use the entertainment system, but it looked like there was a large selection of videos. Food was standard airline catered food, and it was served with a smile. My baggage arrived safely on both ends. I’d rate American, United and Delta, but they aren’t flying! Does that mean they get HIGHER marks because they don’t have Israeli service, or lower marks because they are disappointing a significant customer base?

  6. Really confused as to what the heter is that allows something like this to be posted. Its not even l’toeles cause there aren’t other airline options at this time.

  7. This list was obviously compiled by Antisemites.
    As the saying goes,
“There are lies, damn lies & statistics.”
This was setup from the start to make ElAl look bad.
Though some is admittedly ElAls fault. I’ve asked ElAl numerous times to replace the oxygen masks with masks Frum Yidden can wear to avoid seeing the Pritzus on the video screens.
They said the laws don’t allow for it. A law obviously written by Antisemites.
What is worse? Losing your life or losing your Neshama?
If it was any other airline associated with a certain group they never would’ve posted it.
G-d willing President Trump will fix this travesty of justice & blatant Antisemitism.

  8. Yet it is the only airline capable of flying to and from Eretz Yisrael in wartime. This suggests an anti-Israel, and probably an anti-Jewish bias in whomever published the rankings.

  9. I rate EL AL the BEST airline. I will continue using them as long as they fly to my destinations. Great service! Delicious food! on time departure and arrival.
New owners definitely cater to the frum world! Thank you!

  10. I have flown on elal twice since October 7 and have had nothing but a positive experience. Yes, it is a bit expensive but I find their service to be in line with all of the other major carriers that I’ve previously flown to Israel.
