It was a scary sight in Betar Illit on Wednesday afternoon as a truck rolled out of control in ‘Givat Bet’, near a chader in which 100s of children were busy in a playground.

The empty truck began rolling on Brim Street, near the chader, shortly after 1:30pm today, and traveled about 100 meters before striking a curb and stationary fixtures, coming to a halt.

An eyewitness called it a “miracle” since there were people on the sidewalk who were uninjured. He added one does not even want to think what would have happened if the truck hit the chader or if this occurred a bit later, when the hundreds of chader students were on the sidewalk on their way home.
