NOT A TYPO: Al Qaeda Calls For Hamas To Release The Remaining Living Israeli Hostages

An adviser to the presumed current leader of Al-Qaeda has called for Hamas to release the Israeli hostages held in Gaza, according to SITE, an American organization that monitors jihadist activities.

The appeal was made by Mustafa Hamid, also known as Abu Walid al-Masri, who is the father-in-law of Saif al-Adel, the individual widely believed to be the head of Al-Qaeda. Hamid’s statement claims that the focus on recovering the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas during the October 7, 2023 attacks is overshadowing the plight of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

In his statement, Hamid urged Hamas to “immediately” release the hostages and their bodies, warning of the consequences if the issue remains unresolved. “This file must be closed and not opened again,” the statement reads.

Hamid also criticized the lack of attention given to Palestinian prisoners, stating that their situation is being ignored in the media and negotiations.

While Hamid is seen as close to Al-Qaeda’s senior leadership, experts point out that Al-Qaeda, which operates regional affiliates in Syria, Yemen, Somalia, and Mali, has little influence over Hamas, which receives support from Iran.

  1. the inability to distinguish between kidnapped israelis being held hostage by hamas, and convicted palestinian murderers in israeli jails, is indicative of al-qaeda’s twisted and immoral islamist world view.
