SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Today, Tuesday, is day 84 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 807th day in Hamas captivity.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Monday night arrested 10 suspects. Arrests were made in Shechem, Ramallah, Chevron and in Beit Lechem, where makeshift weapons and a pipe bomb were recovered. Suspects in custody were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Shula Zaken stated she will never speak out against PM Olmert and never agree to become a state witness.

*Kiryat Motzkin-Nahariya train service suspended today too as track maintenance continues.

*America is planning to sell an advanced anti-ballistic missile system to the UAE.

*Prof. Jeff Halper, the Israeli who was on board one of the boats which violated Gazan waters to protest Israel’s “occupation of Gaza” was granted honorary Gazan citizenship by the ruling Hamas regime.

*From May 6th through August 31st, the official swimming season on the nation’s beaches, there were 38 fatal drowning incidents reported.
