I once heard from a mashgiach that when one sees eggs in an ingredients list on a product to not automatically assume that there is no issue with the eggs. There is an issue called ova eggs (I think that’s what he called it), which is eggs found in the body of a chicken after it was killed or slaughtered. These eggs are an issue and that’s why one has to be sure that the product has a hechsher.
Eggs in a carton probably don’t have this issue.
