Do you think that the situation in Israel now will improve if Trump wins? He has 0 coattails in DC and the global stage. The old guard Republicans don’t support him. Oct 7 could’ve still happened under Trump. Trump still believes in a peace deal with palestinians. A great deal of the trump maga base is isolationist and some even support Arabs over Jews. But Harris supporters are more openly hostile to Israel.
September 15, 2024 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #2314947akupermaParticipantThe English phrase is “caught between a rock and a hard place”.
The DINOs and RINOs both support Israel, as well as support a strong pro-democracy foreign policy. But the current situation is that the Democrats have gone WOKE and the Republicans have gone MAGA, and neither of them support a policy that would result in the United States actively opposing the alliance of Russia, China and Iran. Israel’s best chance for survival is that either: 1) one of the parties will lose so badly that their former leadership (today’s DINOs and RINOs) can retake control; 2) a third party will be formed by the DINOs and RINOs, with a foreign policy reflecting the mid-20th century “Cold War” bi-partisan consensus.
My suggestion is that Israel should be pursuing a policy of being self-reliant, which they clearly aren’t doing.

Do you think Trump will cut off financial support from Iran?
Will this make Hamas weaker due to having less money with which to attack Israel
Do you think if they were weaker they would make a “ceasefire deal” more in line with what Israel wants
What are your opinions on this, then we can go forward with the dialogue
September 15, 2024 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #2314976keithParticipantTrump was the most pro Isreal president in the history of the United States. Democrats have always taken the Palestinians sides and whatever the problem always blamed Isreal. After every reported terrorist event, the United States response under Democrat presidents was always Israel is the blame and has to give up more. It was exactly the opposite under Trump. Democrat president Israel is not terrorists. Under Trump, they were encouraged to kill as many terrorists as they could. Democrats no effort was ever made to acknowledge Jerusalem as the Jewish capital and other Democrats it was expected that Jerusalem would be divided and offered to the Muslims. It was the exact opposite under Trump. In fact, Trump moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem. Trump invested a lot of resources in engineering peace between Israel and its neighbors. Under Democrat presidents support for Isreal was always reluctant and the nations Expected no benefit from making peace with Isreal.
When Isreal was at war and Obama was president, he instructed the government not to release munitions necessary for Israel to continue the fight and Israel was running out of magicians. Joe Biden did the same thing. It would be inconceivable for Trump to do the same. The Harris campaign said, cutting off supplies to Isreal is a possibility in her administration.
Obama not only did nothing to hinder Iran from funding terrorism and performing terrorist attacks, but encouraged them to do so and funded them to do so. Trump cut the legs off of Iran and Iran was in great danger from Trump’s policies.
For anyone who cares about Isreal there really is no debate as to who to support. If you support Isreal, you support Trump. If you support Harris, you do not support Isreal. It is as simple as that.
September 15, 2024 1:35 pm at 1:35 pm #2314983Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant1, T is unpredictable, so the best we can go is his previous record. It was pretty positive to Israel. Both in his direct dealings with Israel (Yerushalaim, Golan, Abrahamic accords) and indirect – Suleimani, ISIS. Could he do something different? sure. But with the other side, we have no idea.
Interesting opinion poll from a liberal group of non-Jewish students in the universities with significant Jewish presence – these are our future leaders, and probably similar to those already graduated: 1/3 showed negative attitudes towards Jews. Of these 1/3:
50% have negative attitudes towards Jews as people and are 50% progs, 30% moderate, 20% conservative. Given that most students are to the left, this seems like even distribution
50% have negative attitudes towards Israel, of which 90% are progressive …So, no doubt, political pressure against Israel is currently from the left
September 15, 2024 1:44 pm at 1:44 pm #2315032ujmParticipantThe POTUS controls US foreign policy. So, certainly, as President he’ll have a great deal of control over Israel policy.

First of all: Where in the world is Isreal?? It’s ISRAEL !!
Second: “When Isreal was at war and Obama was president, he instructed the government not to release munitions necessary for Israel to continue the fight and Israel was running out of magicians. Joe Biden did the same thing. ”
I assume you meant ammunition, not magicians.
And you say Biden did the same thing? Are you for real? Biden has been sending tons and tons and tons and tons of armaments to Israel for the last 11 months. That’s a fact, no matter how much the maga crowd lies, and lies, and lies.
Would Trump have done the same? Who knows. All we know is that he is ready to dump the Ukraine. And you don’t think 2 weeks later he would dump Israel? Don’t be so naive !September 15, 2024 11:25 pm at 11:25 pm #2315100keithParticipantYechiel-
1- it’s munitions. Israel was at war and running low on war equipment. US equipment was in Israel stored but not released for them to use. Normally US releases it when Israel needs it. It belongs to USA until released though. Obama explicitly blocked its release when Israel needed it.2- isreal depends on smart munitions or precise munitions. To a great extent match with it was using in Gaza to limit civilian deaths. Biden’s administration blocked it. Eventually, he released them but only after great delay.
3- as regards what he may or may not do the good thing is he was already president. He was already in a position of responsibility and did more for the state of Israel than any president ever in the history of the United States.
All of this is easily checked fact.

September 16, 2024 9:23 am at 9:23 am #2315226Sam KleinParticipantWith today being the second time in the span of just a little more then a month since former president Donald Trump first assassination. Does anyone even know or remember what the shocking message DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM was of the first attempted assassination?
THE SHOCKING MESSAGE
On July 13th 2024, former president Donald J. Trump was speaking at a presidential campaign for the upcoming election of his second presidential campaign and then while he was still speaking he was shot in the ear from the roof of another building across the campaign and everyone is asking what is the message DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM and why would Hashem have him shot in the ear versus anywhere else in his entire body that could’ve killed him? And Then a week later a major tragedy hit klal yisroel, 2 innocent people driving in the Catskill mountain went over the road and we’re immediately niftar Rachmana litzlan leaving wives and large families of orphans without a father and everyone is asking what is the message from Hashem? The shocking message is that First our loving father and King of Kings Hashem ruler of the entire world, sends wake up calls through other nations to bring us to Teshuva but if that Chas VShalom doesn’t work and we don’t LISTEN WITH OUR EARS and openly accept Hashem’s wake up call for serious Teshuva and Achdus then we leave Hashem no choice but to Chas VShalom hit his loving nation klal yisroel directly with non stop horrific tragedies as we have all seen just in the last few months alone. ARE WE GOING TO CONTINUE LIVING IN DENIAL? and then ask ourselves why there’s so much tzaros in Klal yisroel? When it could’ve all been avoided if we only accepted Hashem’s wake up call for serious Teshuva and Achdus together as one loving nation?.
Do YOU know any father in the entire world that likes to hit and punish his child? Sometimes the father has no choice, the kid won’t do his homework or listen and go to sleep when told. What do we call that? A potch of LOVE, the parent has no choice and it’s completely for the kids benefit of chinuch and when he grows up if he remembers the story he might even come back to his parents and thank them when he now as an adult knows it was completely out of love and for his good.
It pains Hashem to see his loving children Klal yisroel suffering but there’s no one else to blame except ourselves when we all openly see the horrific tragedies hitting klal yisroel and Instead choose to continue living in denial and doing nothing about it versus waking up and showing Hashem that we accept Hashem’s wake up call for serious Teshuva, Kinnus and Taanis like we did in the story of Purim and our lives were saved because of it.May we all accept Hashems wake up call for serious Teshuva and Achdus together as one loving nation so Hashem can send Mashiach already bkarov

Trump did more for Israel than any other president? Really?
Ever hear of the Yom Kippur War, with the surprise attack on Israel by all its Arab neighbors?
You know what president Richard Nixon did? He immediately sent tons and tons of armaments to Israel, thereby saving Israel from total destruction.
And president Biden has done the same in our time.
Trump? He moved the embassy. Whoopee doo. How many countries followed his lead? Practically none. So what exactly was accomplished? Only that Orthodox Jews have been hoodwinked in believing he is, or, almost is,the moshiach. Feh! Disgusting to worship such a liar, con artist, demagogue, lecher,
rumor spreader of who is eating dogs etc etc
I repeat, FEH!September 17, 2024 10:49 am at 10:49 am #2315583Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant> Whoopee doo.
Yechiell, thanks for actually answering this claim. Usually, most anti-Ts here just avoid mentioning T’s actions. I presume you will have a similar, ungrateful, response to other T’s achievements – Abrahamic accords, recognition of Golan, killing Iranian top general – so I am not even asking.

And exactly when did we ever see a Hakoras Hatov (gratefulness) from you for Biden sending tons and tons of arms to Israel for the last 11 months. Hypocrite.September 19, 2024 10:43 am at 10:43 am #2316423Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantI absolutely have. I actually wrote here before about Biden claiming (justifiably) that he is different from Obama’s people – the latter seeing Israel through progressive lenses as “occupier”, while Biden has experiences of Yom Kippur War and understands Israeli vulnerability and a need to act.
But note, please – when Biden does act, whether fully or partially or after a long delay, he is following the centrist position – as most in politics support Israeli self-defense, defense against Russia, border control, etc. T’s action above, and some others, were unusual, and maybe even risky, acts against the opinion of establishment. This only compares with Reagan’s “tear down this wall” speech – wherer these words were crossed out twice by speech editors, but he used them anyway.

September 19, 2024 11:38 am at 11:38 am #2316594fandango443ParticipantThe entire jewish world are victims of Republican mind control.
September 19, 2024 12:23 pm at 12:23 pm #2316614fandango443ParticipantBefore Trump killed Solemani they were working together to destroy the Kurdistan independence movement. When Iran responded to the Soleimani hit by injuring 100+ American soldiers Trump did nothing. Republicans are secretly allied with the IRI and coordinate military actions together. Meanwhile Joe Biden forces the KSA and Jordan to shoot down drones headed for Israel. They actually deter Iran who still hasnt properly responded from the embassy hit in Lebanon. Republicans lie to you because they know how to talk to you. Even the soleimani hit was just to create a talking point. Even liberal secular american jews think republicans are “better for israel”
September 19, 2024 1:51 pm at 1:51 pm #2316702Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantFan, as we see, it is always possible for a smart person to find a good excuse to not be grateful. I wonder (/s) whether you’ll reconsider your view when you find out that someone fed you bad data: 100+ soldiers were not injured, most soldiers flew out based on advance warning, 50 people had a headache.
September 19, 2024 1:51 pm at 1:51 pm #2316703philosopherParticipantAkuperma, I totally agree with you that Israel should become self-sufficient…or at least as self-sufficient as possible. They have the ability to produce superior weaponry and not have to rely almost completely on the US.
September 19, 2024 11:56 pm at 11:56 pm #2316769fandango443ParticipantAnd yet Trump did nothing to respond because he doesn’t actually care about helping Israel. What do you think “America First” means?
September 20, 2024 12:02 am at 12:02 am #2316824Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantCurrent weapon sharing system in democratic countries has a flaw: on one hand, cooperation is working out great, different countries/companies specialize in certain things and then exchange. The power of that was already recognized by Adam Smith and David Ricardo, BUT then any participant can veto the use of their stuff in a specific conflict for various political reasons. If Hungary provides coffee cups for F-35 pilots – they won’t be able to fly against Russia now? This got to be written in the contracts that the users can use on their own.
