The ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) on Sunday 11 Iyar lifted a gag order on a case involving the arrest of members of a terror cell that planned to abduct an IDF soldier from the area of Ariel in Shomron. They hoped to use a hostage soldier as a bargaining tool to obtain the release of additional terrorists.

The leaders who formulated the plan for the cell are imprisoned in Israel today. One of the prisoners is active in Hamas in Gaza and continues working to assist in raising funds and obtaining weapons in Gaza. He is also active in enlisting additional jail mates into his terrorist activities.

The cell members were instructed to buy a substance to knock out their victim, steal a vehicle and get weapons to carry out their kidnapping. Channel 2 News reported the cell members lived in PA (Palestinian Authority) areas near Ariel and Yitzhar.
