US Airways Jet Strikes Bird, Returns To NY Airport

usaiA US Airways jet returned to New York’s LaGuardia Airport after the pilot reported striking a bird after takeoff.

The Federal Aviation Administration says Flight 2191 landed safely around 7 p.m., Friday.

US Airways says the Airbus A319 had 96 passengers and 5 crew members aboard and was headed to National Airport near Washington D.C.

The airline says passengers were being booked on other flights.
