Judge Orders Anti-Israel Group to Disclose Funding Channels Amid Terrorism Financing Investigation

A Virginia judge has ruled that American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) must disclose its funding channels as part of an investigation into allegations of terrorism financing, the Free Beacon reported Tuesday.

The nonprofit group, which has been accused of providing material support to overseas terrorist organizations, will now have to provide the state’s attorney general, Jason Miyares, with access to its donor records and funding streams.

The investigation was initiated after AMP failed to properly file tax forms for seven years, which the state argues could indicate impermissible use of funds, including support to terrorist organizations. The judge’s decision allows Miyares to obtain potentially years’ worth of funding documents, including donor and transaction records.

AMP has been at the center of anti-Israel protests across the country and has been accused of promoting anti-Semitic rhetoric and supporting Hamas. The group’s finances have long been scrutinized, with allegations of terrorism financing and money laundering.

The ruling has garnered national attention, with congressional Republicans also probing AMP’s funding streams. The group is also facing a lawsuit from Israeli terror victims who allege that AMP serves as a collaborator and propagandist for Hamas.

AMP’s lawyer, Christina Jump, argued that the group is now in compliance with Virginia law and that the attorney general’s request for donor documents violates the First Amendment. However, the judge rejected this argument, paving the way for Miyares to obtain the requested documents.

The case has sparked debate about the limits of free speech and the need for transparency in nonprofit funding. AMP’s finances and activities have been widely criticized, with the Anti-Defamation League describing the group as “the leading organization providing anti-Zionist training and education” that “seeks to delegitimize and demonize the Jewish state.”
