A Patriot missile battery has been deployed in the southern resort city of Eilat recently, placed in proximity to the Iron Dome defense system, which has been operating in the city for over a year.

The Iron Dome defense system intercepts short range rockets fired from Hamas occupied Gaza while the Patriot system is intended to intercept missiles fired from longer distances.
