To Ben Torah: The plaza was not emptied of Tefilah unless you dont consider Kadish, Tehillim, Kel Male, Yizkor and Hespedim appropriate for the Kotel or Beit Knesset. Furthermore I guess you have never seen a shul used for Azkarot well wake up it happens all the time.
To Gt: You forget HaRav Tzvi Yehuda Kook ztl, HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu ztl, Rav Yasher Ber Solivetchieck ztl, HaRav Ovadya Yosef ztl HaRav Ben Tzion Uziel ztl,HaRav Ahron Lichtenstien and the list goes on and on they all said Hallel either with or without a bracha.
As the Brisker Rav and others pointed out, the State of Israel has pushed away the geulah. It certainly is not “the beginning of the geulah”.
He noted that had the Jews at that eis ratzon davened for the geulah, they would have been answered and Mashiach would have come. Unfortunately, the satan snatched that opportunity from them and they instead prayed for the State, which they got instead.
And decades and tens of thousands of dead Jews later, the Zionists of all religious stripes continue to worship their idolatry of Zionism…
