Jordan is adamantly opposed to the deployment of its personnel as a peacekeeping force in Yehuda and Shomron, and is also opposed to the deployment of an international Arab force in Gaza. The plan to replace PA troops with an international force consisting of troops from Arab countries is being put forward by the Egyptians.
According to an al-Jazeera report, quoting senior Jordanian officials, such a move is destined to fail and therefore, “Jordan is not interested in the Egyptian proposal” Jordan’s Muhmad Abu Hedeiv, who heads the Jordanian parliament Foreign Affairs Committee stated.
He added it would be the “last nail in the coffin of the Palestinians and implant the Israeli occupation in Arab areas for good.”
