Only Up to 50 Talmidim May Enter Yitzhar Yeshiva Building

YitzharShomron Brigade Commander Colonel Yoav Yarom has announced he will permit up to 50 talmidim to enter the Yitzhar yeshiva building that was recently taken over by the IDF, now serving as a base for a border police company.

The Ohd Yosef Chai Yeshiva was evicted from the building after the military decided it was going to expropriate it to serve as a base. Other restrictions include receiving approval from military officials for davening times as well as the limud schedule.

Yarom points out in his letter that any request to permit over 50 mispallalim to take part in tefilos will be considered.

  1. I remember reading similar stories in a history book of the army confiscating Jewish facilities to turn them into military ones – however that was the Russian army.

Tzioynut at it’s best – a week ahead of “independence day” and we see where the modern state of israel is heading these days.
