olmIn the sentencing hearing for the Holyland Real Estate case, the prosecution demanded a 1.2 million shekel fine against the main defendant, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in addition to jail time.

The sentencing hearing in the Holyland Real Estate case began on Monday morning 28 Nissan 5774 in the Tel Aviv District Court. The prosecutor called on the court to levy a 1.2 million shekel fine against the former prime minister in addition to a 5-7 year jail term. In another bribery case, the prosecution is seeking an addition 2-4 year imprisonment for Olmert.

The sentencing hearing for Shula Zaken was pushed off for two weeks.

Olmert’s media advisor Amir Dan stated “The prosecution’s request is extreme and completely unfounded and will not stand the test of any court ruling of the last ten years. Similar cases conducted by the prosecution prove this is an attempt to settle accounts with Olmert and not based on relevant considerations”.
